Students of the Lagos State University (LASU) have assured Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu they would walk with him for peace.
Mr Sanwo-Olu had invited singers Falz, Seun Kuti, and skit maker Mr Macaroni among others to a “walk of peace” which will “herald the healing of the land” after the killings and destruction of property during the #EndSARS protest last year. But the aforementioned rejected the governor’s invite.
However, president of the Student Union Government (SUG) Oladipupo Badmus expressed support for the governor on behalf of the students when Sanwo-Olu visited the school on Thursday to commission the newly built students’ arcade.
The students said they would embark on the walk with the governor for peace and prosperity of the state.
Badmus, who led hundreds of students to welcome the governor to the institution with speaker of the Students Union Representatives, Mustapha Adejuwon, described Sanwo-Olu as a youth-centric governor.
Sanwo-Olu donated two big buses to the SUG as well as other equipment for students’ use.
