Lead pastor of the Household of David Church in the Ikeja area of Lagos Sola Osunmakinde has said that although the fire that broke out at the church on Wednesday afternoon destroyed everything, the church is not sad about it.
Osunmakinde stated this in a video shared on Instagram.
He said the church’s special programme Mercy Conference 2024, which will begin on January 31 and continue till February 4, will not be postponed.
“I came in the morning and everything was okay till we started to hear that there was fire on the roof, and it became bigger. We called the fire service but they did not come on time.
“Painfully, we watched everything burn completely. Every seat, AC (air conditioner) burnt,” Osunmakinde said.

The cleric noted that no life was lost in the inferno.
“We thank God that no life was lost and we thank God for everything. We are not discouraged and we believe that we will still go on with the conference.
“We are not sad, we are happy. All things work together,” Osunmakinde added.
The church announced later on Instagram that the programme tagged ‘The Resurrection’ would be held at Highpoint Event Centre and Suites located at 5, Impressive Close, Agidingbi, Lagos.
Some Christian ministers expected to be at the programme are Apostle Joshua Selman, Pastor Yemi David, Pastor Godman Alabi, and singers Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, Moses Bliss, and Dunsin Oyekan.
