Founder of LoveWorld Incorporated, also known as Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has addressed the departure of prominent gospel musicians like Sinach, Joe Praize, Frank Edwards and Eben from his church.
In a video that surfaced on Instagram on Friday, the cleric claimed he stopped working with them because they no longer celebrated God in their ministry.
Reports had previously suggested that the musicians left after being restricted from ministering outside Christ Embassy.
The tension reportedly escalated when Sinach participated in The Experience, an annual gospel concert organized by Pastor Paul Adefarasin of House on the Rock.
Her growing international engagements and reduced presence at Christ Embassy allegedly displeased Oyakhilome, who reportedly urged her to remain more active in the church’s music ministry.
Speaking on the matter, Oyakhilome said he had tried to guide them, but they refused to follow his leadership.
“The church was turned into a party place, not a prayer place where God’s word was truly celebrated… they were not soul winners. They led praise, but when it was time for prayers, they were gone,” he said.
He further accused them of prioritising financial gain over ministry, stating that their focus had shifted from worship to professionalism.
“They charged for their singing, they became professionals making money from the church… They had become too popular, and the little money they were making was too attractive to them, so they didn’t want to follow me. I hope they all repent… they are not worship leaders,” he added.
Sinach, Frank Edwards and the others have yet to respond to Oyakhilome’s remarks.
