Actress Toyin Abraham says she did not get a nomination for the 2022 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA) because only those who submitted their movies are eligible for nomination.
The Alakada star said this in the comment section of her Instagram post on Wednesday after a fan expressed concern over the absence of her movie The Ghost and the Tout Too on the nomination list.
Clearing the air, the 39-year-old said those who did not submit their movies for consideration cannot be nominated for the award.
“Film submitted are nominated and if you don’t submit they won’t nominate you. I hope that answers your question and last year I got nominated and won so it is not all the time so let’s focus on this year’s nominee cos they all deserve it,” she explained.
Toyin bagged the Best Actress in Africa award at the 2020 AMVCA for her role in the movie Elevator Baby.
She was also nominated for her role in Kasanova and Bling Lagosian.
