Yoruba actress, Moji Olaiya, has said her decision to abandon Christianity for Islam is because she has always loved the latter. In a recent interview with Encomium magazine, the daughter of highlife music icon, Victor Olaiya, said, “No man influenced my decision to identify with Islam.”
Moji, who converted from Christianity to Islam last year, stated that she finds Islam to be a peaceful religion and also one which affords her direct access to God.
Hear her: “Honestly, Islam is a peaceful religion. The aspect I love most is that you don’t need any pastor to get closer to God. You don’t really need anybody to pray for you. You can always pray on your own and Almighty Allah will answer your prayer without any intermediary. I have been doing that since I became a Muslim and it has always worked for me.”
The actress reportedly told another magazine last year that challenges in her marriage had made her a stronger Christian.
She had said back then that she was not only an actress, but a devoted follower of Christ, vowing to spend the rest of her life preaching the gospel and winning souls for Christ.
