Actress Kiitan Bukola has opened up about her fears of marriage, revealing how her childhood experiences have shaped her concerns about family life.
In a recent interview with Biola Bayo, Kiitan admitted that while she admires the concept of marriage, her past has left her apprehensive.
Determined to provide a stable and loving home for her future children, the actress said her fears stem from growing up without a father’s presence.
“I love marriage, but at the same time, I am scared of it. I don’t want my kids to grow up outside wedlock,” she shared.
“There are some of my father’s children I don’t even know. I met some online. I didn’t experience the fatherly care I wanted. I missed that parental bond, and it still hurts.”
Kiitan revealed that her father had multiple children, many of whom she only discovered through social media.
The absence of paternal love, she said, has left a lasting impact on her outlook on family and relationships.
The actress also spoke about her humble beginnings, recounting how she hawked food as a child.
“I used to hawk pounded yam and efo back in the days. I would wake up at 3:30 am to take it to Sabo in Ondo town,” she said.
Kiitan’s personal life has also faced challenges.
In November 2022, she announced her engagement to Kingsley on Instagram, but the relationship ended just two months later.
In 2023, she revealed the engagement was called off due to unresolved issues.
In another candid interview, the actress admitted to having been in a relationship with a married man, describing it as a difficult experience to move on from because of the bond they shared.
