Disc jockey Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has explained why she has not yet released another album almost four years after her debut Original Copy.
Cuppy disclosed this in a video shared via X on Wednesday, urging her fans to be patient with her as she is still trying to perfect her music.
She admitted that she promised to release new music this year but she wants to, first of all, perfect the art.
She said: “I posted something the other day which is so true. I promised my fans that I will drop music this year, it has been almost four years since my debut and only album.
“But, let me say it again, God’s timing is the best even if it doesn’t align with your ego. I wanna make sure I get music right. And at 30, I feel I have another proper shot, and I’ve small small energy. So, be patient with me.”
Original Copy started out as an EP but on May 18, 2020, Cuppy revealed that it was now an album after she added one more song to it with the help of her sister, Tolani, who is also a singer.

The 31-year-old said she has a point to prove if she wants to be taken seriously as a musician.
“My album is just about f***ing music… I have a point to prove. I don’t want people to to get it twisted. Just because I’m a fun person doesn’t mean I’m not a credible artiste…,” she said.
Cuppy’s fans helped pick the album name through a social media poll.
