Actress Rita Dominic has explained why she waited so long before getting married at 46.
The actress who is now 48 revealed her reasons in a recent interview with Joy 99.7 FM in which she stated that she was friends with her husband Fidelis Anosike for a long time before they found love, dated, and then got married.
When asked why she waited so long to get married, Rita Dominic said: “I wanted to be sure that I was married for the right reasons and not for the reasons that stemmed with societal pressure. Even before I got married, the pressure was there for years, I just turned a deaf ear.
“Like I always say ‘I’ll marry the man of my dreams and not the man society dreams for me because if anything goes wrong tomorrow, I’ll be the one left to pack up the pieces and not the society.”
Rita and Fidelis tied the knot traditionally in April 2022.
The white wedding ceremony which was attended by families, friends and colleagues of the couple took place at North Yorkshire in England in November 2022.
Celebrities including Kate Henshaw, Chioma Akpotha, Blessing Egbe, Michelle Dede and Mildred Okwo were also present at the ceremony.
In an Instagram post on July 11, 2022, Rita revealed she keeps her relationship private because it is perfect for her.
