Why I was ordained C&S bishop – Shina Peters

Veteran juju singer Shina Peters has revealed why he was ordained a Bishop in by the Cherubim and Seraphim Church of God.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Peters explained that his consistent use of hymns in his music, which has won many souls for Christ was the reason for his ordination.

“The Almighty God said that I should be made the first Bishop in the Cherubim and Seraphim Church of God. He told the leaders of the church,” Peters said.

According to him, the church leadership received the divine instruction years before he accepted the role.

“God said this is because I am the only musician who has been consistent in using hymns in my music and performances, and with this, I have won many souls for Christ.

“You know my music is usually taken from the hymns,” he added.

Peters admitted he initially avoided the ordination but eventually yielded.

“I tried to dodge the ordination for a while until God finally got me arrested,” he said.

The 66-year-old singer expressed gratitude for his achievements, saying, “I am fulfilled, I am contented.

“The only thing I always ask my creator for now is to keep me more enlightened in His word and the grace to get closer to Him.”

He also hinted at upcoming projects, telling fans to “expect something unusual very soon.”

Peters was ordained Bishop at a Cherubim and Seraphim Church in the Iju area of Lagos State in 2021.
