Ibadan-based cab driver Hafeez Adedigba, who went viral for wearing a woman’s outfit in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, has said he does it as a way to cope with the rainy season.
Mr Adedigba told content creator Ayo Adams in a recent interview that he switches to his wife’s clothes when he gets drenched.
“During heavy rainfall, my clothes get soaked while driving. I change into my wife’s dress to stay dry and comfortable. I switched back to my clothes when the rain stopped,” the father of four said.
Adedigba revealed that he discussed his decision with his wife who agreed to let him use her dresses.
He said he was unbothered by public criticism, adding that he was only focused on providing for his family.
“Although people speak against it, I do not care about whatever they say because I remain focused on what I do. I have only one wife and I have four children,” he said.
“I have been driving a cab for many years. We are only praying to God to show us mercy. From a young age, I learnt how to trade tyres. But when things did not go well for me I had to switch to driving a taxi.
“As for my clothes, I have about two that I wear. When I took it from home, I told her I wanted to use it in my car and she agreed. I do not fight with people. Whoever is looking for money does not fight. The scar on my chest was from an accident I had.”
