Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has given her reason for choosing to vote for Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nigeria’s forthcoming presidential election.
The 40-year-old gave her reason in a Twitter post on Tuesday.
“Good morning fam. I’m voting Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President. I believe he is a better administrator,” she wrote.
The actress who describes herself as Asiwaju baby has been doing a countdown to what she believes is Mr. Tinubu’s victory in the election scheduled for February 25.
She posted a picture of the APC presidential flagbearer on Sunday night, declaring “My President is just too cute.”
The actress’ support for the former Lagos State governor has come with a lot of heavy criticism, particularly from supporters of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.
Some of her critics accuse her of receiving money to campaign for Tinubu and even went as far as cursing her family.
The mother of one has, however, vowed not to succumb to bullies while maintaining that she did not receive any money for her support of Tinubu.
Speaking in a recent Instagram live interview with fellow actress Kemi Afolabi, Toyin said “nobody can pay me. I’m making my money. I sell my movie in cinemas; I sell it on platforms. I’m making my money I’m fine.”
Addressing cyberbullies, she added, “Choose your candidate; don’t bully me.”
Aside from Tinubu, Toyin is also supporting Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos for a second term in office.
She is a close friend of Mr. Sanwo-Olu’s special adviser on state lotteries Funmi Olotu.
