The remains of top banker Herbert Wigwe, his wife Chizoba and first son Chizi have been buried in a private tomb cited within the newly established Wigwe University in Isiokpo, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The funeral service was held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Lion of Judah Parish, Isiokpo.
After that, the bodies were moved to the private mausoleum and buried around 2.45 pm on Saturday.
Their remains were brought in separate vehicles and driven into the church premises at exactly 11am.

The funeral rites commenced on Monday, March 4, 2024 and will end on Sunday, March 10 with an outing service.
Among the dignitaries who attended the funeral service were Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Wigwe’s business partner Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, chairman of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote; former governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi; and former minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
Also present was former presidential candidate, Peter Obi; Abia State Governor Alex Otti, Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, Senator Seriake Dickson, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Muhammadu Sanusi among others.
Wigwe, wife and son and a former group chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group, Abimbola Ogunbanjo, died in a helicopter crash that occurred near a border town between California and Nevada in the United States on February 9.
