Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), will on Tuesday sign a peace accord with governorship candidates of four other political parties.
Chairman of Rivers Debate Group and the President of Rivers State Investors Forum, Ibifiri Bob-Manuel, made this known in Port Harcourt on Friday.
Mr Bob-Manuel also said the candidates would participate in a debate which would be conducted in partnership with CoolWazobia FM, Silverbird TV, Enough is Enough Nigeria and others.
Bob-Manuel added that the signing of the peace accord became imperative after the violence that greeted the presidential and National Assembly elections on February 23.
He also said the peace accord would be signed in the presence of European Union (EU) representatives and other international organisations.
The five political parties to be involved in the peace accord are: the PDP, African Democratic Party (ADP); Labour Party (LP); Accord Party, and Social Democratic Party (SDP).
