Wike remains my oga – Fubara

Siminalayi Fubara

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has said that his predecessor who is also the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, remains his boss.

Fubara and Wike met on Thursday at a church service marking the 2023/2024 legal year at Saint Cyprian’s Anglican Church in Port Harcourt.

The duo shook hands before taking their seats.

It was the first time both politicians would be seen together in public since state lawmakers loyal to Wike attempted to impeach Fubara for reasons not made public.

At the start of his speech, Fubara jokingly asked the congregants to suspend the recognition of guests in order not to commit another impeachable offence.

Then he said: “My oga (boss) remains my oga. Whatever that has happened is in the past. I have not sent anybody to malign anybody.”

The governor described the political crisis as a thing of the past, adding that although it was a trying time for the state, the misunderstanding would pass. He promised that his administration would benefit the people.
