You don’t get to seeSuper Eagles stars like Wilfred Ndidi at major events in the country due to the demanding nature of their job.
But whenever they do, something is almost bound to happen – they steal the spotlight.
This exact script played out on Sunday when Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, surprisingly showed up at this year’s edition of AY Live in Abuja.
The annual event, regarded as the biggest comedy concert in the country, was held at the Transcorp Hotel, with the likes of I Go Dye, Gordons, Akpororo, Funny Bone, Helen Paul featuring alongside host Ayo Makun, better known as AY.
But it wasn’t the line-up of comedians and musicians that caused a stir at the event, rather the presence of Ndidi.
Several fans of the Leicester City midfield enforcer were spotted jostling to take selfies with the player who is currently holidaying in the country.
He took to Instagram on Monday to share a glimpse of how fans reacted to his coming.
Ndidi’s reputation has continued to soar since joining the Foxes in January.
The 20-year-old achieved the unbelievable, comfortably filling in for N’Golo Kante who joined Chelsea last summer.
He even added an extra spice by scoring three goals, something missing in the Frenchman’s game.
He was rewarded with the club’s Young Player of the Year award despite joining them in the winter.
He also featured for the Super Eagles in the defeat to South Africa last month.
