Winner of The Voice Nigeria 2017, Daniel Diongoli, popularly known as Idyl, has declared his interest in running for a political office in his home state.
The Bayelsa born singer announced via his Instagram on Wednesday that he will be running for a seat in the state’s house of assembly.
“Have decided to contest for the Bayelsa state house of assembly to represent the people of kolokuma/opokuma constituency 1… in 2019. are you with me???” he wrote.
Idyl has said he dumped his studies as a final year student of economics at the Niger Delta University, Yenagoa to pursue his dream in music.
“I am ready to sacrifice everything for my music,” he declared after he won The Voice Nigeria.
