Showbiz promoter, TeeBillz, has said that without famed producer, Don Jazzy, and musician, D’banj, the clamour around Afrobeats wouldn’t be as big as it is now.
TeeBillz said this in reaction to an electrifying performance by D’banj at the AfroNation concert in Portugal.
‘It’s funny how everyone is shouting AfroBeats to the world now and conversations are being held around the world without acknowledgement …… without the KINGS @iambangalee and @donjazzy there will be no #Afrobeats blessings to you guys,” he wrote.
D’banj and Don Jazzy co-founded Mo’ Hits Records in 2004 but separated in 2012.
The breakup was due to creative and business differences.
Don Jazzy has gone on to establish Mavin Records with a number of artistes and string of hits to his credit.
