Nigerian pop star, Wizkid, has bagged his first Grammy nomination for his contribution in Drake’s album, Views.
The nomination is in the album of the year category, an award which recognises the artiste’s performance as well as the overall contributions of featured artistes, producer(s), recording engineer(s) and/or mixer(s).
Wizkid’s contribution to the album is a guest artiste and producer for the song ‘One Dance’.
However, ‘One Dance’, which is the most streamed song on Spotify in 2016, was snubbed by the Grammy.
2016 has been extremely good for 26-year-old.
He won Artiste of the Year at the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA), Worldwide Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards, Artiste of the Year at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) and Best African Act at the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) among others.
The 59th annual Grammy Awards will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 12, 2017, and will be hosted by YouTube star, James Corden.
