Grammy Award winner Wizkid will pay tribute to Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti at the 2022 Afrobeat Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
The organisers of the event announced this on Twitter on Thursday.
“With the Afrobeats Induction Ceremony two days away, we are truly excited to give the stage to @wizkidayo who will be paying a tribute performance to Afrobeats legend @felakutiofficial on 26th of February, 2022,” the tweet read.
Fela will also be honuored with a lifetime achievement award as well as inducted into the Hall of Fame for his impact on the African music industry.
Other entertainers like Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, Osita Osadebe, King Sunny Ade, Ebenezer Obey, Bala Miller, Victor Olaiya and 2face will also be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Hosted by singer D’banj and comedian Bovi, the event will witness performances by music veteran Onyeka Onwenu, Flavour and Omawumi.
