Wofai Fada, in-law unite for daughter’s dedication

Comedienne and actress Wofai Fada, alongside her family and her mother in-law, came together in unity to celebrate the dedication of her daughter, Ifedayo Cole, in church.

On Sunday, Wofai shared a video compilation on Instagram, highlighting moments from a family photoshoot taken during the occasion.

“With peace, love, and everything nice 🙏. Thank you, Lord, for the gift of family ❤️❤️ #babydedicationservice,” she captioned the post.

However, her father-in-law was notably absent from the event.

In May 2024, Wofai announced her engagement to Taiwo Cole.

The couple proceeded with their traditional wedding ceremony on May 4, 2024, in Ugep, Cross River State.

However, just a day later, the Cole family publicly disapproved of the union.

A statement released on May 5, 2024, on behalf of the family expressed their lack of awareness and consent regarding the marriage.

“This serves to notify all acquaintances, family, and friends that the Cole family of Victoria Island, Lagos, are not aware of any marriage ceremony of our son, Taiwo Olakitan Cole; neither did we grant permission nor support in this regard,” the statement read.

The family further distanced themselves from the marriage, stating that individuals claiming new ties to the Cole heritage should not be recognized as such.

Unconfirmed reports suggested that Taiwo’s father objected to the marriage due to the couple’s age difference and the brief seven-month courtship.

Despite opposition, Wofai and Taiwo formalised their union with a civil wedding at the Ikoyi Registry in Lagos on October 27, 2024.

Wofai shared pictures from the event, expressing gratitude for the support they received and reaffirming their commitment to each other.

In November 2024, Wofai announced the birth of their daughter, Ifedayo Cole.

Sharing the news on Instagram, she expressed gratitude to God for their “precious gift,” stating that her joy was complete.

Now, with the families seemingly coming together for Ifedayo’s dedication, it appears that bridges may be mending despite past controversies.
