A woman who lost two children in the building that collapsed in Lagos on Wednesday has committed suicide, Sahara Reporters has
The children were said to be aged six and four.
It was gathered that she had been delivered of her children by Caesarean Section (CS).
Lagos state government on Friday put the official death toll of pupils and adults at 20.
A neighbour who was quoted but not named said the woman, a resident of Gambari area of Lagos Island, consumed a deadly insecticide known as Sniper.
“Nobody knew what she wanted to do with the Sniper. But a few minutes later, we saw the bottle beside her where she was sleeping and we found out that she was already dead,” said the neighbour.
Friends and well-wishers have, according to the report, kept pouring in at the residence of the woman to commiserate with the husband and family members.
