Nigerians were by no means impressed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) after the country was sanctioned by FIFA on Tuesday.
The apex football body’s hammer fell on the Super Eagles after fielding an ineligible Shehu Abdullahi against Algeria in November.
As a result, all three points were awarded to the Desert Foxes who had only picked a point in the fixture.
Additionally, the country was also fined for its misdeeds.
That appeared to have irked Nigerians, who wondered the implication had Gernot Rohr’s team had garnered fewer points.
For all those asking what happened..
FIFA sanctions NFF for fielding Shehu Abdulahi in the World Cup qualifying match against Algeria in Algeria.
The match has now be forfeited and awarded 3-0 in favour of Algeria.
The @thenff was also fined some money(no be say l care)

Huge story: @thenff almost cost Nigeria the World Cup place by fielding an ineligible player against Algeria. FIFA has now awarded three points to Algeria.
So if we hadn’t qualified before that game, our World Cup slot could have just been lost. https://t.co/80C7Z1gMh7

Fifa fines Nigeria, awards Algeria 3 points and 3 goals for fielding an ineligible player, Abdullahi Shehu. Is this how we could have lost out of d world cup if that 3 points were actually needed? NFF, which way?

FIFA Sanction
FIFA punishes Nigeria for fielding Shehu Abdullah who they found ineligible against Algeria.
Me: This is what you get when you have bunch of ‘ineligible’ Administrators at the helm of affairs – it’s unacceptable and someone have to pay!#YP— Jamiu ibitayo (@Ibijas) December 12, 2017
#AdFSports
So Shehu Abdullahi will claim he didn’t know he had collected two yellow cards prior to the Algeria match? Both he and the entire NFF should be locked in a room and severely flogged with socked pankere
Their only luck is that we still Russia bound

So if we hadn’t qualified for the World Cup before the Algeria game, we would have forfeited our spot. Someone needs to be fired.
