Ex-Super Eagles forward, Osaze Odemwingie, has selected Russia as his first choice ahead of Nigeria at the FIFA World Cup.
Odemwingie, who made over 60 appearances for the Africans, is born to a Russian mum and Nigerian dad.
The 36-year-old has obviously considered his maternity nation first who are hosting the quadrennial event.
Odemwingie, in a Twitter post on Wednesday morning, revealed he can’t wait to meet his mum at the Mundial.
The ex-Stoke City forward added emojis of five nations he will be rooting for, including England, France and Belgium.
However, of all Russia came first.
On my way to moscow! Mum is waiting 😍😋. Still good enough to be in Naija squad but nothing spoil. Happy to be there for some media work. Rooting for 🇷🇺 🇳🇬 🏴 🇧🇪 🇫🇷 ⚽🏆#RUSSIA_2018 pic.twitter.com/9Ngg4g1AIk
