Super Eagles youngster, Wilfred Ndidi, insists Nigerians have nothing to worry when the country face African champions, Cameroon, in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Both nations will slug it out twice in the month of August in the race to pick the sole ticket from Group B which also has Algeria and Zambia.
The Indomitable Lions stunned everyone en route to winning the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) – with many already predicting a walkover when they play the Eagles.
However, the 20-year-old midfielder isn’t perturbed by the Cameroonians’ newfound form.
“Cameroon are Champions of Africa and I congratulate them really, but, I don’t think that bothers anybody,” the Leicester City man told Sports Radio, Brila FM, on Tuesday.
“We (Super Eagles) are not worried about any team. We’ll do our best and the best team will win.”
Ndidi has had an impressive start to life since moving to the Premier League in January. The ex-Genk star even scored a screamer to help the Foxes progress in the FA Cup.
“I don’t want to feel comfortable with what I have done so far with Leicester City. I want to keep improving,” he revealed.
“I’m trying to adapt to the life here in England. It’s a lot different from my experience in Belgium.”
But the results still hasn’t improved for Claudio Ranieri’s side – with the reigning Premier League champions now facing an uphill task to remain in the topflight.
Ndidi added: “There’s no pressure on Leicester despite our situation in the league. We’re working to turn the results around.”
“I don’t believe the players are tired. We give our best each game and I know every player works really hard.”
