Actress Wumi Toriola has addressed those who criticised her for hinting at a possible reconciliation with her ex-husband.
The Yoruba movie star talked about her marriage in a recent chat with fellow actress Iyabo Ojo, in which she stated that she would love to have more kids with one man.
In a viral video on social media, she said “I want to have more kids first. I love children, at least two more kids.”
“The decision now is going over the love life. I think I still want to have my kids with my you know, I don’t want to bring it on”, the mother of one said.
In response, Iyabo Ojo screamed “A reunion?.”
However, in a now-deleted Instagram post, Wumi Toriola hit back at critics of her statement, saying, “Sometimes, trolls just step on the wrong feet. I am not your everyday public figure. Sometimes, I ignore other times I react… I am also human. Thank you for easing the pain. Thank you all and to the “fija folorun ja crew. I listened after 20 minutes. He has also apologized.
“I am not your “mature” public figure, I don’t drag it. Thank you, beautiful people, nobody will take your peace of mind,” she wrote.
Wumi in a 2023 interview said she walked away from her marriage following domestic violence and abuse.
Her ex-husband, on his part, claimed that their marriage was filled with violence, deceit, and betrayal on Wunmi Toriola’s part, accusing the actress of physically assaulting his mother.
Wumi got married in May 2018 and the union produced a son.
