Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has declared interest to contest the governorship seat for a second term.
A statement on Wednesday from the governor’s office said he made his intention public at the Government House’s banquet hall in Lokoja during the inauguration of the Kogi State House of Assembly Commission.
Bello said his intention to seek a second term was born out of consultations with party leadership at national and state levels and Kogi people.
“I would like to inform the good people of the State, the All Progressives Congress family and supporters from the state, the Local Government Areas down to the wards and polling units, as well as various stakeholders, opinion molders, families and friends of my interest to run for a second term in office as the Executive Governor of Kogi State,” he was quoted as saying.
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has slated the state’s governorship election for November.
