Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has released N10 million for the burial of victims of the recent armed robbery attack in Yagba East Local Government Area of the state.
Kogi Deputy Governor, Edward Onoja, revealed this on Twitter on Monday.
“Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has released the sum of 10 million naira to support the burial rites of the slain victims of the unfortunate Isanlu robbery attack which claimed about 10 lives,” he wrote.
The suspects had invaded the Divisional Police Headquarters in Isanlu and shot dead seven officers on duty before heading to a branch of an old generation bank where they killed another police officer.
Some passers-by were also hit by stray bullets.
Mr Onoja said the police station which was partly destroyed would be brought to ‘standard’.
“Plans have been concluded to bring the Isabel Police Station to standard, this would help rebuild the confidence of the Police for proper policing of the community,” he wrote.
