Speaking with qed.ng in Lagos recently, the young man opened up on the inspiration for his popular track, ‘Orente’, and how artistes degrade women.
He also revealed that he has never regretted joining the YBNL crew.
According to him, the song is to “to celebrate great women, great girls and ladies that will stand by their man no matter the odds.”
He spoke further: “I realised that there are lots of songs that talk about how ladies are bitches. You know what I mean. There are only few songs that actually celebrate women and what they actually stand for. Not a lot of songs talk about the good things they do. That’s what inspired me to sing ‘Orente’, just to celebrate the great women in our lives”
Being signed to YBNL, he disclosed, is the best thing to ever happen to him.
In his words, “being in the YBNL crew is the best experience ever. I’ve never had a day to regret anything since I joined. It’s been blessings upon blessings.”
Adekunle Gold is the fifth artiste to be signed into rapper Olamide’s YBNL label. He released the video ‘Sade’ under the label’s imprint in March and has since acquired the reputation of a fast rising artiste in the music industry.
Sade was mixed and mastered by ‘Jamb Question’ singer Simi.
