Yemi Alade congratulates Davido on BET award

Afropop singer and songwriter, Yemi Alade, has congratulated Davido for his win at the 2018 BET Awards held on Sunday at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California, USA.

The pop star was named best international act, seeing off competition from compatriot, Tiwa Savage; Booba from France; Cassper Nyovest of South Africa; Fally Ipupa of Congo and Stefflon Don of the United Kingdom to the award.

Yemi Alade, 29, took to Instagram on Monday to congratulate Davido saying, “We MADE IT TO THE MAIN STAGE FINALLY @davidoofficial Congratulations! Thank you @bet_intl For everything you have done thus far to Get us to this point.”

The ‘Johnny’ singer also sent her condolences to D’banj who lost his son on Sunday.

“Homage D’banj The Lord Will provide even more than your expectations and turn all your grief to joy, your water to wine and your lose to Abundance IN Jesus name Amen,” she wrote.

The 29-year-old herself was nominated as BET best international act Africa in 2015, an award Stonebwoy, a Ghanaian artiste, went on to win.

Yemi Alade recently release the video for latest single, ‘How I Feel’.

The song produced by Egar Boi is the singer’s first single after her third studio album, Black Magic, and her return from a successful European Tour.

The video was directed by Ovie.
