Singer Yemi Alade on Wednesday shared a video of herself singing her song ‘Dignity’ as part of her tribute to the victims of #EndSARS protest at Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos.
The toll gate was the epicentre of the protests against police brutality and bad governance in October 2020.
The song which features Angelique Kidjo speaks against oppression and brutality.
The 32-year-old shared the music video on Instagram with the hashtag “We will never forget.”
In another Instagram post, the singer wrote: “It’s impossible to forget! The trauma, the drama, the deaths and threats. A day like this is impossible to forget 20th October 2020. May Justice Prevail someday soon.”
Celebrities like Kate Henshaw, Falz and Mr Macaroni have also paid tribute to the victims of the protest.
While Kate penned down a message in an Instagram post on Wednesday, Falz and Mr Macaroni led the #EndSARS memorial protest at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos.
