Singer Yemi Alade has visited the hometown of American pop star Rihanna in Barbados.
The 33-year-old photos and pictures from the visit on Instagram on Thursday, August 31.
In the video, Yemi Alade could be heard calling on Rihanna while announcing her arrival.
“Riri how far you dey house? I don come oo. My sister,” Yemi said.
Captioning the post, the ‘Johnny’ singer wrote: “I came to see Riri, the diamond of Barbados at her family home so we can “work work work work work” Feels good to be celebrated HOME and AWAY! Her family home is a monument and symbol of “dreams come true” and the entire street is named after her #rihannadrive A lot of great musicians come from humble backgrounds. Ride on sis.”
Yemi released her debut album King of Queens on October 2, 2014, and the album produced her most successful single ‘Johnny’ and other singles like ‘Kissing’, ‘Tangerine’ and ‘Taking Over Me’ featuring Phyno.
The album was nominated for album of the year at the 2015 Nigerian Entertainment Awards and the 2015 Headies Awards. On March 25, 2016, Yemi released her second album titled Mama Africa which produced singles like ‘Na Gode’, ‘TumBum’ and ‘Ferrari’. Mama Africa won the Worldbeat Album at the 2016 Independent Music Awards.
Her collaboration with Angelique Kidjo on Mother Nature album eanred her a 2022 Grammy recognition.
