Yoruba entertainers including Yinka Quadri, Faithia Williams, Mercy Aigbe, Femi Adebayo, Lateef Adedimeji and Muyiwa Ademola on Friday attended fuji musician K1 de Ultimate’s 50 years on stage celebration.
K1 de Ultimate born Wasiu Ayinde Marshal celebrated his 50th music anniversary at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos.
One of the highlights of the event was the special dance by K1 also known as KWAM1 and his wife Emmanuella Ropo.
The event witnessed performances by Ayinde Aluko, Lateef Adedimeji and others.
Other celebrities at the occasion include Foluke Daramola, Kunle Afod, Adunni Ade, Jigan Babaoja, Kazim Adeoti and Shade Okoya.
K1 started his career as a member of the late Ayinde Barrister’s band between 1975 and 1978, after serving earlier as an ‘instrument packer’.
He went on to release his first album titled, Abode Mecca, in 1980. Four years later, he released Talazo which is still regarded as one of his most successful bodies of work.
The fuji musician, who hails from Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, has won many local and international awards in the course of his career. He has also performed in many music festivals across the globe.
