Comedienne and actress, Lepacious Bose, has said that a female comedian must be fearless to succeed.
The actress said this in an interview with QedTV.
While responding to a question on the disparity in the number of females in the comedy industry compared to men, she said: “Comedy is an industry where if you don’t have strong heart you cannot survive and women easily get embarrassed, and they are shy.
“Unlike other industries, if you are an actress, whether the film is good or not, it’s after watching the movie that we know, but when performing on stage, if the joke is not funny, everyone is looking at you.”
Lepacious Bose added that women cannot handle that sort of pressure opining that only brave people can handle the glare of the audience.
She also advised that female comedians must be brave and resilient.
The Being Miss Elliot actress is one of the most popular female comedians in Nigeria alongside Helen Paul.
Last year, Lepacious, born Bose Ogunboye, in a post to Instagram blamed the devil for her weight problems, saying “ the devil stole 25 years of my life due to weight and hypothyroidism. I suffered in silence because no one understood my issues, I didn’t even understand myself.”
The comedienne’s weight loss journey which started about five years ago has yielded substantial results that earned her applause from fans, friends and colleagues.
