Media personality Toke Makinwa has lent her voice to the unfolding separation saga between musician Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba and his wife Annie Idibia.
On Monday, Toke took to her Instagram stories to express her support for Annie and stress the importance of standing against wrongdoing, particularly in situations involving women.
“I’m not one for too much talk, but what is wrong is wrong,” Toke wrote.
“As a woman, if you sit on the fence on this one, if it misses you, it’ll touch your daughter or any female in your family. No one is innocent, and if you want to bring the media into it, knowing what is happening, we would fight for her.”
Her statement comes amidst growing controversy over the couple’s strained relationship, which has captured public attention.
On Sunday, 2Baba announced their separation and impending divorce on Instagram, only to delete the post shortly after, claiming his account was hacked.
However, in a surprising twist, the musician later shared a video, looking visibly distressed, where he doubled down on the initial announcement.
“Nobody hacked my account, na me talk wetin I wan talk,” 2Baba said while drinking from a plastic bottle.
So far, Annie Idibia and her team have not made any public comments about the situation, leaving fans eager for updates, including the promised press release from 2Baba.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2012, share two children and have long been celebrated as one of the most iconic unions in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
