Senator Ben Murray-Bruce of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has alleged that the nation is in ‘mourning mode’ after President Muhammadu Buhari was declared winner of Saturday’s presidential election.
The Senator representing Bayelsa East constituency in the National Assembly said this on Wednesday via Twitter.
Mr Murray-Bruce also accused the president of rigging the election but ended by saying “you can’t rig the public’s mood.”
He wrote, “They announce your ‘win’ and it is as if a majority of the nation is in mourning mode. That ought to tell you something. You can rig votes, but you can’t rig the public’s mood.”
Murray-Bruce had on Tuesday said that his decision to remain quiet as election results trickled in should not be taken as conceding victory.
