Former minister of aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has described his legal wife Regina Fani-Kayode as the greatest blessing God bestowed on him.
The controversial politician made the statement in a social media post on Thursday to celebrate the woman’s birthday.
“Happy birthday to my beautiful wife Gina.
“May God continue to bless you and be with you.
“Thanks for being such a wonderful wife and for always standing by me.
“You are the greatest blessing that the Lord has ever bestowed upon me and I love you very much.
“You shall live long and prosper in good health, peace and joy and the counsel of God shall stand in your life.
“Have a great day my dear.
“Love you now and always,” the 62-year-old wrote.
His wife’s age is undisclosed.
Femi Fani-Kayode said in a 2020 Instagram post that he met Regina in 1993 and they got married in 1997.
Regina told PUNCH in an interview also in 2020 that the 1997 wedding was based on Ghanaian customs but the common law wedding was held at the Apapa Registry in Lagos in 2002.
Their union produced a daughter named Oluwaremilekun.
Fani-Kayode has a history of affairs with multiple women.
He was married to Ghanaian Saratu Atta from 1987 to 1990 and Nigerian Yemisi Adeniji (now Wada) from 1991 to 1995.
He began an affair with former beauty queen Precious Chikwendu in 2014 and the two have four sons together.
They fell apart in 2020 and have recently reconciled to allow the woman access to their children.
While the feud with Ms Chikwendu lasted, Fani-Kayode had another beauty queen Nerita Ezenwa as companion.
