Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has congratulated Pastor Enoch Adeboye on his 40 years as general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
The 39-year-old quoted a tweet from Adeboye on Thursday.
He said, “Congratulations Sir.”
Adeboye shared pictures of himself and wife and also revealed he began his ministry on January 21, 1981 on Twitter.
He tagged his post as 40 years of mercy.
His son Leke Adeboye also celebrated him on Instagram on January 16.
On Twitter, President of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide Apostle Johnson Suleman prayed that the RCCG leader would live to see more years on January 16.
“I want to congratulate you daddy on the 40th year anniversary as the general overseer of RCCG…may heaven keep you for us..so we continually draw from your wealth of wisdom..its 4 decades of outstanding leadership..happy anniversary my father,” he wrote.
Despite becoming the church’s leader at a time it was not well known, Adeboye, 78, has expanded it to about 200 countries, including more than 14 million branches in Nigeria.
The professor of Mathematics often says that his aim is to put a church within five minutes walking distance in developing cities and five minutes driving distance in developed cities.
In 2019 Yul said he had a calling to serve God shortly after he was involved in a ghastly crash.
“Back home in Lagos. After my acting seminar yesterday, resting, recharging for more movements coming up. So much is happening recently that has left me in awe. Indeed I have a calling to serve God. A pastoral calling,” his wrote.
