Actor Yul Edochie has publicly disagreed with his father and Nollywood veteran Pete Edochie over his Mother’s Day message.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, the younger Edochie shared a video clip of his father’s message on Mother’s Day in which the veteran advised on whose name to register a car gift between one’s daughter and son-in-law.
Edochie said in the video: “If you are a man and you have a lot of money. Your daughter is getting married and you want to buy a car, fine. Buy a car as a present for the new family, register that car in name of your son-in-law, you are encouraging that marital relationship to last, register the car in the name of your daughter, you break up that relationship before too long. Quote me.”
Yul disagreed saying, “Of course, chief is entitled to his opinion. And back then their ways were different.
“For me, if I buy a car for my daughter as a wedding gift, I’ll give it to her to register in whatever name she likes.
“If she asks me to do the registration for her then I’ll register it in HER name.”
Pete Edochie’s Mother’s Day message has been a topic of discussion on social media, particularly raising dusts among women.
