Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has expressed his desire to get a newer Mercedes-Benz model.
In a tweet on Friday, September 4, the 38-year-old displayed pictures of his 2007 GL450 Mercedes-Benz model, saying it was time to give it to a lucky fan after five years.
The actor put his social media influencer power to use by asking the auto manufacturer what could be done as he could not afford to get a newer model presently.
“Dear @MercedesBenz I’m a big fan of your brand, huge fan. And here’s my ride, a 2007 GL450. Awesome machine.
“5yrs with me. It’s time to give it out to a lucky fan cos I would love to get a newer model of it. Sadly I can’t afford it at the moment. Can anything be done about it?” the last child of legendary actor Pete Edochie asked.
The car manufacturer was yet to respond to his tweet at the time of filing this report.
Yul was involved in an accident with his Nissan Pathfinder SUV in 2019 just before Ore in Ondo State.
He was on his way from Lagos to the south-eastern part of the country.
Recounting his ordeal in an Instagram post, the actor said he was driving on 100-120km/h when he lost control of his car.
“I left Lagos heading to the east, just before I got to Ore doing 100-120km, my car lost control and started veering off to the right. I tried to steer it back on track and the next thing I knew I was upside down tumbling till the car finally ended up in a gutter.
“Miraculously I came out alive with few cuts and bruises,” he wrote.
The incident seemed to draw Yul closer to God as he suggested one time that he got a pastoral calling.
However, in May, Yul marked one year anniversary of the crash.
“Immediately the car tumbled my whole life flashed right in front of me in a fraction of a second, and I heard a voice saying ‘Yul it’s all over, if there was anything you wanted to do, sorry you can’t do it anymore’. My system shut down,” he wrote in an Instagram post.
