The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Suleja Unit Command, said it deployed 200 regular and special marshals together with four patrol vehicles on Suleja axis of Abuja for Christmas and New Year festivities.
Mr Olayinka Akande, the Unit Commander, disclosed this in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Suleja on Thursday.
“We have deployed sufficient personnel to major flashpoints to prevent road crashes during and after the festivities,” he said.
Akande identified Madalla Market, Madalla “U” turn, Kaduna Road, Dikko Junction, Suleja Township and NNPC depot as some black spots.
He said the personnel would ensure free flow of traffic on Suleja–Minna and Suleja-Abuja Roads.
He advised road users to adhere to the traffic rules and regulations while on the wheel to stay alive.
The unit commander said that the command had embarked on public enlightenment in the motor parks, Churches and Mosques within Suleja and its environs.
He advised motorists to avoid overloading, speeding, and wrongful overtaking, dangerous driving and use of mobile phones while driving.
