The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, on Thursday appointed Amb. Ahmed Sule, as his Special Assistant on Diplomacy and Foreign Relations.
This is contained in a statement in Abuja, by Kimiebi Ebienfa, Acting Spokesperson of the ministry.
The minister commended Sule, a Political Science graduate from Bayero University, Kano, who had been a retired Career Diplomat with over 30-years of experience.
“Amb. Sule was appointed Principal Envoy of Nigeria to India with concurrent accreditation to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal by President Mohammadu Buhari in 2021.
“He served meritoriously in that capacity between 2021 and December, 2023.
“While the ministry congratulates the seasoned diplomat on his appointment, he is expected to bring to bear, his wealth of experience in the implementation of the minister’s foreign policy drive,” Tuggar said.
Sule had prior to his retirement from the Nigerian diplomatic service in 2024, worked in various Directorates and Divisions of the ministry in Abuja.
The appointee also served at the Permanent Mission of Nigeria to the United Nations, New York, USA.
Sule also served at the Embassy of Nigeria, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and the High Commission of Nigeria, Ottawa, Canada.
He was also Acting High Commissioner of Nigeria in London, United Kingdom.
