Actress Yvonne Jegede on Monday penned down an emotional tribute on Instagram to veteran actor Olu Jacob to appreciate the latter for his contribution to the movie industry.
The actress shared a video of the man receiving the lifetime achievement award at the 2021 African International Film Festival (AFRIFF).
“Watched this video with tears in my eyes. I want to give him his flowers while I still can: uncle Olu Jacobs, thank you for blessing us with your talent, for paving the way for me. I honor you and appreciate you for the immense contribution you have made to Nollywood. Thank you sir,” she wrote.
Olu Jacobs, 79, was celebrated by his wife Joke Silva on Instagram on November 14 after receiving the lifetime achievement award.
Fellow veterans like Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Richard Mofe Damijo, Kate Henshaw, Ego Boyo and Segun Arinze took to the comment section of the post to congratulate Olu Jacobs.
A star of several film, TV and theatre productions, Olu Jacobs has been off the acting scene for a while due to age.
