Desamour Production Company, on Wednesday hosted movie buffs and journalists to an exclusive screening of the much anticipated movie Ghana Must Go at the Filmhouse Cinemas, Surulere.
The romantic comedy, produced by award-winning Ghanaian/Nigerian actress, Yvonne Okoro, is set for nationwide release on June 10.
Directed by multiple award-winning filmmaker, Frank Rajah Arase, Ghana Must Go features Yvonne Okoro, Kofi Adjorlolo, Ik Ogbonna, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Helen Paul, Ada Ameh and Nkem Owoh (Osuofia).
Set in Accra, Ghana, the comedy revolves around two young lovers who are of Nigerian and Ghanaian origin.
Yvonne Okoro plays the role of Ama, a London-based Ghanaian woman who brings her Nigerian boyfriend, Chuks played by Blossom Chukwujekwu, home to meet her parents much to the displeasure of her wealthy father.
Ama’s parents refuse to give their blessing to their union, citing historical happenings between the neighboring nations as reason for their refusal. The series of events tests the love of the young couple in the most hilarious and unexpected fashion.
This is the second feature movie from Desamour Production Company, after the 2012 box office smash Contract.
Ghana Must Go was released in Ghana earlier in 2016 and has already enjoyed box office success in the West African country.
The Nigerian Premiere is set for Friday, June 3 in Lagos.
