Senator Shehu Sani has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to personally meet families of 43 farmers who were killed by Boko Haram fighters on Saturday at Koshere village, near Zabarmari in Jere Local Government Area of Borno State.
In a tweet on Monday, Sani also said the Federal Government should cater for the bereaved families.
He wrote: “The FG has a moral responsibility to cater for the families of the Borno slain victims. And it should begin with the President directly meeting them to give them a word of consolation and encouragement.”
A presidential delegation comprising the Senate President Ahmad Lawan and Chief of Staff to the President Prof Ibrahim Gambari visited Borno on Monday.
Also, President Buhari tweeted that he had given “marching orders” to security operatives to intensify offensives against Boko Haram.
The killings have been met with outrage from local and international observers.
