Actors Timini Egbuson and Zubby Michael have been captured sharing a light-hearted moment at Funke Akindele’s premiere, where Timini jokingly acknowledged Zubby as the bigger actor.
In a video shared by Zubby on Instagram on Tuesday, the actors shared a warm hug, as Timini playfully said, “You can buy me,” which made Zubby burst into laughter.
The friendly exchange comes months after both actors engaged in a heated debate over who is Africa’s biggest actor.
In March, during the first episode of the Prime Video reality show Ebuka Turns Up Africa, Zubby boldly declared himself “Africa’s greatest actor.”
Timini immediately challenged Zubby’s claim, saying he was not bigger than him.
Zubby fired back, bragging about his financial power and claiming he could “buy” Timini.
“You don’t know anything about me. Because of your Igbo connect where you people borrow each other’s cars, you think you have seen me finish? What do you even know about me, bro?” Timini had retorted.
This latest development also follows actor Gideon Okeke’s recent praise for Zubby Michael.
On Monday, Gideon described Zubby as the biggest Nollywood star while referencing the biblical story of Elizabeth and Mary.
“Zubby Michael is the biggest Nollywood star. But like Elizabeth, I know what Mary is carrying. God’s expression resounds in different decibels. It takes ONLY humility to submit in praise to God. Keep riding my broda. I see you,” Gideon wrote on Instagram.
