Zubby Michael says goodbye to Junior Pope at funeral

Actor Zubby Michael has paid his last respects to his colleague Junior Pope at the latter’s funeral.

Junior Pope’s body arrived in his hometown, Ikpogwu Ukehe in Nsukka, Enugu State on Friday morning and was accompanied by his family.

A funeral mass was held at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church, Ukehe and was attended by Zubby, Uchenna Nnanna, Prince Nwafor, Diamond Okechi, Chinwe Owoh and others.

At the end of the mass, Zubby Michael joined others at Junior Pope’s house where the deceased was finally laid to rest amid tears from family, friends and colleagues.

Accompanied by security operatives, Zubby arrived Junior Pope’s compound to say his final goodbye and pay his last respects to his colleague.

Also present at the funeral were national president of Actors Guild of Nigeria Emeka Rollas, Patience Ozokwo, Rita Edochie, Gentle Jack, Steve Eboh, E-Money and his brother Kcee.

Zubby’s initial silence over Junior Pope’s death raised questions on social media.

But Zubby in an Instagram post on Thursday, April 18, he replied those wondering why he had not publicly mourned his colleague or posted a picture of the deceased like others.

The movie star who served as Junior Pope’s best man during the latter’s wedding in 2014 posted a video on his page with the caption: “Make una rest no be by posting.”

However, on April 25, the 39-year-old finally broke his silence with a picture of Junior Pope which he shared on Instagram with the caption: “It is difficult to say RIP Nwanne.”

Junior Pope whose real name was JohnPaul Odonwodo, got married to Jennifer Awele in November 2014 and they had three boys together.
