Actor Zubby Michael has remained silent on the death of his colleague Junior Pope who died in a boat accident with four other crew members.
Junior Pope was confirmed dead on the night of April 10 after several attempts to resuscitate him failed. The actor alongside make-up artist Abigail Frederick, and the production crew; Friday, Olanti and Precious drowned in Anam River on their way back from the set of Another Side of Life, a movie produced by Adanma Luke.
While several of his colleagues like Ebele Okaro, Ini Edo, Destiny Etiko, Chizzy Alichi, Prince Eke, Jerry Amilo, Patience Ozokwo, and Lizzy Gold have publicly reacted to the death of Junior Pope, Zubby Micheal has, however, maintained his silence.
QEDNG’s check on his Instagram account on Monday, April 15 reveals that Zubby who was Junior Pope’s best man during the latter’s wedding in 2014, has posted two videos since the tragic incident occurred.
In one of the videos, Zubby who didn’t say a word, could be seen relaxing in an apartment while paying attention to his phone.
In the second video Zubby, who wore a different outfit could be seen walking around the same apartment.
Captioning the second video, the 39-year-old wrote, “God pass them. #ZM #A1 #doings #Nawedeyhere #bless up.”
The posts, however, generated reactions as many stormed the comment section to ask why he had not said anything regarding the death of Junior Pope, while others opined that he could be dealing with the loss of his colleague silently and does not want to chase clout.
Actress Angela Okorie also claimed that Zubby Michael’s silence on Junior Pope’s death was due to a misunderstanding that transpired between the two actors who were once best friends.
Meanwhile, Zubby has been reposting Instagram messages from fans who have been consoling and supporting him since the tragic incident.
Zubby reposted a message from a follower who shared a throwback picture of the Omo Ghetto: The Saga actor and Junior Pope suggesting that he is silently dealing with the loss of his colleague.
“We know the real ones. We don’t chase clout. When you are big, you are big. I feel your pain, Zubby Michael. We love you too. Please be strong,” the post read.
